Guna
Guna (Tamil: குணா) is a 1991 Tamil drama film starring Kamal Haasan, Roshini, Rekha, S. P. Balasubramaniam, Girish Karnad, Ajay Rathnam, Janagaraj, and Sharat Saxena. It was dubbed into Telugu as Guna.
Plot
Guna (Kamal Haasan) is a mentally affected person and receives treatment in a mental asylum. Another mental person in the asylum tells him the story of a fictitious character named Abirami and registers in his mind that she is an angel who is going to marry him on a full-moon day. After coming out of the asylum, he believes the story to be true and searches for his Abirami. One day he mistakes a rich girl (Roshini) in a temple for Abirami; he kidnaps her and takes her to a lonely, damaged house situated at the top of a hill resort called Kodaikanal. Though at first the girl hates him for his strange attitude toward her. But eventually she comes to understand Guna's deep love, accepts his love and marries him. Meanwhile, the cops and the girl's uncle are searching for her. After many twists and turns in the screenplay, Abirami's uncle (Sharat Saxena) kills her for her property. Guna kills her uncle and commits suicide.

The film stars Surya Sivakumar, Asin Thottumkal, Nayantara, Pradeep Rawat and Riyaz Khan. It was dubbed and released in Telugu by Allu Aravind in November 2005, and was successful there as well. It was remade into a Hindi film by Murugadoss again, starring Aamir Khan with Asin Thottumkal playing the same role. The film's concept is an inspiration from Christopher Nolan's Memento.
The film's story is around a rich business entrepreneur falling in love with an ad film actress. The entrepreneur and the actress fall in love, though she does not know that he is an entrepreneur. When she successfully saves a bunch of children who were in danger, she is brutally murdered by a gang leader and the entrepreneur himself gets hit hard on the head when he tries to save his lover, eventually leading him into a state of short term memory loss. He is later studied about and helped by a psychology student to take revenge on the one who murdered his lover.

Guru Sishyan is a Tamil film directed by S.P.Muthuraman in 1988 featuring Super Star RajiniKanth in lead role along with Prabhu. This was the first movie for Gouthami, playing the love interest of Rajini, who later went on to become of the leading heroines of the Tamil film industry.
Synopsis
Guru (Rajinikanth) and Babu (Prabhu) are two friends and petty criminals. They end up in jail and come across an innocent man ('Mannvaasanai' Paandiyan) who tells that his sister was raped by Muthuraaj (Radha Ravi) and who had killed a taxi driver(witness) with the help of foolish corrupt police officer Nallasivam (Vinu Chakravarthy) and pinned the murder on Paandiyan. Paandiyan is sentenced to death row for the killing by the court. Guru and Babu believe in Paandiyan's story and decide to find the truth and proove his innocence once they get out of jail. Guru fractures Paandiyan's hand so that his death sentence would be delayed, until it heals, under law. Guru and Babu get released from prison and set in motion an elaborate plan to find out the real killers. Along the way, Guru, who believed that his parents were murdered, finds out that they are in fact being held captive by Muthuraj's brother(Ravichandran) who is trying to find the map to a treasure. The location of the map is know only to Guru's father who is suffering from memory loss and is tortured to make him remember it. Babu finds out that his parents were murdered by Rajamanickam(Ravichandran). Guru and Babu help them find the treasure to free Guru's parents and Guru finds out that Paandiyan is his own brother. The ensuing fight at the treasure location, ends up with Muthuraj and his brother arrested by police after Guru and Babu beat them up and the treasure cave collapses after Guru, Babu and Guru's family escape from it. Babu marries Muthuraj's cousin(Seetha) while Guru marries Nallasivam's daughter(Gouthami) and they live happily ever after.
